Reasons to Call Your Insurance Agent

Everyday circumstances can impact your insurance coverage. Here are some reasons you may not think to contact your insurance agent.

  • Change in Occupancy—The Homeowner’s policy contract is based on it being owner occupied. If the owner no longer occupies the home and it is vacant or rented out to others, the policy must be rewritten.

  • Child Going Away to College—If your child goes away to college more than 100 miles away from home without a car, it may be possible you can receive a discount on your auto policy.

  • Purchasing a Dog—You should check with your agent if your insurance company will accept a breed of dog that you may be considering.

  • Association Living—Your condo policy might need changes if your homeowner’s association makes changes to the association master policy.

  • Working from Home—Your auto policy may need to be adjusted for the amount of miles you drive. On the homeowner’s policy, there may be limited or excluded liability and/or business property.
